Background


Many IT Asset Management (ITAM) solutions fall short as they were originally designed for hardware centric systems. The fact is, many existing ITAM systems have always maintained hardware data, but have only added software as a secondary consideration, therefore have not been able to maintain all the needed relationships directly with the software. For example software might be associated with a computer but not with a cost centre.
